South Asian Carers Group

Wavlink and IndianCare invite South Asian women caring for a family member with disability to join a welcoming group program designed especially for you. Enjoy art, cooking, outings around Melbourne and connect with women who understand the caring role, in a culturally safe and supportive environment. Fridays, 9 October to 18 December 2026, 1.30pm to 4pm. Program is funded for women under 65. Register your interest on (03) 9561 7104 or info@wavlink.org.au.Sessions include:

• Art and creativity: culturally inspired sessions including Rangoli-inspired pattern work and card making, all materials provided.
• Cooking together: shared cooking, celebrating culinary traditions and learning healthy recipes with locally available ingredients.
• Socialising and connection: relaxed opportunities to share stories and build peer relationships.
• Out and about in Melbourne: supported outings including local markets and a guided park or garden walk.
• Melbourne supports and services: guest speaker sessions on supports available to carers and people living with disability.

All activities are optional, participants are welcome to simply enjoy afternoon tea and conversation. Cultural and dietary needs are catered for. Some participants may be eligible for HACC PYP funding; others attend as fee for service. Speak to us about your eligibility.
