Wavlink 2010 Programs

Wavlink's programs are diverse and many involve community access. we encourage life skills, independence and individual responsibility. Our programs aim to provide opportunities for people attending wavlink to effectively participate in the wider community.

Programs include computers, literacy, art, craft, cooking, music, personal development, community advocacy and woodwork. People who are aged 18+ and independent in their transport and personal care are welcome.

Enrolment and Eligibility


The eligibility criteria for Wavlink programs are that a person must be 18 years or more, and have a physical, intellectual, sensory or psychological disability. You must also be independent in your personal care and transport needs. Wavlink is funded as a "core needs" agency, so our consumers are required to meet all aspects of the eligibility criteria.

Before enrolling at Wavlink you will need to have an interview with the CEO (Chief Executive Officer), to determine your needs, interest and suitability for Wavlink′s programs. To be officially enrolled at Wavlink, you will need to complete an Enrolment form, Emergency Contact Details form and Consumer Information form. You will receive a copy of this information for your records. If Wavlink is not able to offer you a place in its programs, you will be referred to a more suitable agency. If there are no current vacancies in the program of your choice, you will be placed on a waiting list, and notified when a vacancy occurs. If vacancies exist, individuals from municipalities other than Monash are welcome.

 
Enrolment 3 Step Process

The procedure to enrol for Wavlink's programs takes just  3 steps:

  1. Phone Wavlink to arrange appointment during the opening hours
  2. Interview
  3. Fill in documents

Wavlink Inc. Fees and Charges Policy

All fees levied fall within the guidelines of the Department of Human Services, Home and Community Care (HACC) Fees Policy (1998) and the Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) Fees and Charges Policy. Fees and charges levied by Wavlink Inc. will be reviewed by the Committee of Management and CEO on an annual basis.

Refunds Policy

You are entitled to a refund when:

  • You do not begin the program
  • Wavlink cancels the program
  • The CEO has the discretion to pay a refund if you withdraw from a program for good reason. This will be decided upon consultation with the CEO on a case by case basis.
 
Benefits of Membership

When you enrol in a program at Wavink you also become a member. For a $2.00 per year membership fee, you receive quarterly newsletters and are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting. Membership fees are payable when you enrol in a program and thereafter in February of each year.

 
Facilities and services available at Wavlink

Wavlink has suitable facilities and services for all services users that needs of participants can be satisified

  • Access to computer and Internet use
  • Access to resource files
  • Information available on other activities and courses
  • Information and support for carers
  • Telephone and fax access if necessary
  • Referrals to other agencies, such as employment, counselling
  • Referrals to health services
  • Referrals and support to assist in accessing respite services
  • Advocacy support
